An SDLC maturity assessment measures how well your teams run the software development lifecycle (SDLC): how they plan and track testing, automate it, build and release code, keep it secure, and learn from production. The Merito SDLC Maturity Assessment scores each part of that work on its own, so a strong area doesn't hide a weak one. It asks only about the areas that apply to your work and follows your answers as you go. You finish with an overall index from 0 to 100, the maturity stage it falls in, and a score for each area. From lowest to highest, the stages are Groundwork, Traction, Momentum, Command, Pacesetter. The report then ranks the gaps worth working on first, so your team knows where to start.
Merito Assessments
SDLC Maturity Assessment
A maturity check that follows your answers.
Start with your role, the kind of software your teams work on, and what you most want to improve. From there, each question depends on your earlier answers, covering every part of software delivery that applies to you and spending more time where it counts. You finish with a report that shows which gaps to work on first.
Areas covered
Ten areas of software delivery
Each area covers one part of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from how you plan and track testing, through continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), to how you learn from production. You only answer for the ones that apply to your work.
Test Management
How your teams write and run tests by hand, report and recheck bugs, and get better at testing over time.
Test Data & Environments
Who looks after your test data and test environments, how private details are protected, and how closely test systems match production.
Test Automation
How your teams write, schedule, and look after their automated tests.
Load and Scale Testing
How your teams load test the software people rely on, catch slowdowns before release, and size systems for growth.
AI in Delivery
How your teams use AI tools to build and test software, and how you keep code, data, and access safe while doing it.
CI/CD & Release
How code gets built, checked, approved, and shipped to production, and how quickly you recover when a release goes wrong.
Observability & Incident Response
How well your teams can see what your software is doing in production, find the cause when it fails, and learn from each incident.
Governance & Compliance
How your teams control changes to production, meet compliance rules, and check whether delivery investments pay off.
Software Security
How your teams keep security flaws, exposed secrets, and tampered builds out of the software you release.
Business Platforms
How your teams test, change, and look after the business platforms you buy and configure, such as HR, finance, or supply chain suites.
How it works
Built around your answers
The set of questions changes from person to person, and you can go back and change any answer before you finish.
It starts from you
Five questions about your role, the kind of software your teams work on, your priorities, your industry, and your company size decide where the assessment begins.
It covers every area that fits
Each area that applies to your work gets a short opening question. Questions about business platforms such as SAP or ServiceNow come up when your teams run one, or when your role or priorities point to one.
It goes deeper where your answers point
Areas you care about most, and areas where your answers leave the picture unclear, get more questions. Once a score is settled, it moves on.
It skips what you don't do
Tell it a practice isn't in place yet and it stops asking about the details. Your report shows a first step for it instead.
Your privacy
Your answers lead the way
The profile questions come first, and they decide what the assessment asks. If you have allowed analytics cookies, the merito.com pages you read during this visit can help decide which areas come first.
