SAP Cloud ALM is SAP's own application lifecycle management product, delivered as SaaS and entitled with most SAP Cloud subscriptions. It combines implementation tracking, business process monitoring, integration monitoring, and service health into one pane of glass across S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, Fieldglass, and SAP Business Technology Platform.
The product is free in most RISE and GROW contracts, which is exactly why it gets under-used. Teams spin it up, find the default dashboards underwhelming, and fall back to spreadsheets and Solution Manager. That is a configuration problem, not a product problem.
Merito's role is to set Cloud ALM up against a real operating model: which processes get monitored, which integrations alert which team, how change requests flow from Jira to Cloud ALM to transports, how test results from Tricentis and SAP Enterprise Continuous Testing feed release gates. Since the Cloud ALM entitlements are essentially free, Merito helps with implementation services that make them useful.
Ideal use cases
- Standing up Cloud ALM for Implementation as the task plan and Fit-to-Standard tracker on a new S/4HANA program
- Replacing Solution Manager with Cloud ALM for Operations after an S/4HANA Cloud migration
- Connecting Cloud ALM Business Process Monitoring to alerting so SAP failures page the right team
- Wiring Integration Monitoring to SAP Integration Suite so integration failures surface in one place
- Feeding Tricentis and SAP ECT test results into Cloud ALM release gates for RISE programs
