Release historyTestRail release history

TestRail 10.9.1032 adds POST /rerun_plan/{plan_id} and POST /rerun_run/{run_id} so integrations can rerun existing plans or runs in one request, optionally copying assignees.

API and integration enhancements

These endpoints rerun existing records without reconstructing them through multiple API calls. POST /add_cases_to_run/{run_id} appends cases to an existing run atomically. It is important to note, that duplicate IDs are ignored, and it returns the updated run object.

  • GET /get_test_states_for_run/{run_id} returns each test's latest result without its complete history.
  • GET /get_cases_count/{project_id} and GET /get_bdds_count/{project_id} count records matching the filters supported by get_cases and get_bdds, without retrieving full datasets.
  • The updated_after filter now applies to get_runs, get_plans, and get_milestones. Adding a result also updates the associated run's updated_on timestamp.
  • get_case, add_case, get_run, and add_run expose test case version information. API responses include is_ai_generated and is_ai_automated for AI-generated or AI-automated cases.
  • Admin users can delete attachments through the API for closed and archived runs and plans.

Automatic user deactivation

At Admin > Site Settings > Application, administrators can enable or disable automatic deactivation, define the inactivity threshold, and configure the frequency of when the process runs.

Database query performance improvements

Database-query optimizations have improved performance and reduce database load for large TestRail instances, particularly when working with test runs, archived case labels, and attachments.

Fixes and improvements

TestRail 10.9.1032 includes 44 fixes across test runs, case exports and editing, dashboards, reports, search, printing, custom-field administration, shared steps, notifications, integrated defect tracking, and API endpoints. The fixes also address attachments, labels, baseline counts, Cross-Project Reports, scheduled run closures, result selection, and AI test-case generation permissions.
