Atlassian-managed, always current
No cluster to run. Atlassian handles infrastructure, upgrades, patching, and availability. Customers manage configuration, not servers.
Atlassian • Application lifecycle management
Jira Cloud is Atlassian's go-forward Jira SKU. Merito delivers the configuration, migration, and integration work that decides whether a Jira Cloud footprint earns its subscription.
Merito delivers Jira Cloud rollouts for greenfield teams, Data Center to Cloud migrations, ongoing admin work, and the integrations that tie Jira Cloud into the rest of the SDLC. We do not sell Atlassian licenses; we deliver the work around them.
What it is
Jira Cloud is Atlassian's SaaS Jira product and the default destination for customers leaving Data Center. It runs on Atlassian-managed infrastructure across four editions (Free, Standard, Premium, Enterprise). Premium and Enterprise unlock Advanced Roadmaps, Rovo AI, a 99.9% uptime SLA, 24x7 critical support, and long audit retention, which is the functional baseline for most enterprise Jira footprints.
Atlassian Government Cloud achieved FedRAMP Moderate authorization in March 2025 and covers Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. Atlassian Isolated Cloud, an Atlassian-managed cloud for highly sensitive data, is in 2026 rollout. These paths matter for public sector and regulated customers previously anchored to Data Center.
Merito's Jira Cloud work falls in three buckets. Greenfield rollouts for teams new to Jira, Data Center to Cloud migrations on Atlassian's sunset timeline using the Cloud Migration Assistant and FastShift where applicable, and ongoing footprint work: permission schemes, custom field governance, workflow rationalization, Rovo agent configuration, Marketplace app oversight, and integrations with CI/CD, source control, test management, and enterprise systems.
Merito does not sell Atlassian licenses. Customers buy Jira Cloud directly from Atlassian or through an Atlassian Solution Partner. Our role is the delivery work around the subscription.
Ideal use cases
What it is best at
No cluster to run. Atlassian handles infrastructure, upgrades, patching, and availability. Customers manage configuration, not servers.
Rovo AI is included in Premium and Enterprise and powers backlog triage, ticket enrichment, and knowledge synthesis across Atlassian Teamwork Graph.
Cross-project planning, capacity, dependencies, and portfolio views. Available on Premium and Enterprise.
Atlassian Government Cloud for Jira, Confluence, and JSM is FedRAMP Moderate authorized. Public sector customers previously tied to DC now have a Cloud path.
Cloud has the richest Marketplace ecosystem with vendor-maintained apps. DC app sprawl usually shrinks on the way to Cloud if the migration is audited properly.

Explore serviceJira Cloud delivery
Greenfield rollout, DC migration, or ongoing admin rescue. Merito delivers the Jira Cloud work so schemes, workflows, Rovo agents, and integrations do not fight your team.
Merito point of view
Most Jira Cloud rollouts Merito is asked to rescue were rollouts where permission schemes, custom fields, and automations were copied from an older footprint or a generic template. The subscription works fine. The configuration fights the team every day. The fix is design up front, not cleanup later.
For DC to Cloud migrations, the shape of success is the same: rationalize before you migrate. Atlassian's Cloud Migration Assistant and FastShift move the data, but they do not decide whether the resulting Cloud instance is usable. Custom field rationalization, workflow simplification, automation rewrite, and Marketplace app audit are what land a clean migration.
Edition choice is usually settled at Premium. Standard tops out when Advanced Roadmaps, Rovo AI, or long audit retention are needed, which is the typical enterprise posture. Enterprise edition matters when there are multiple Atlassian sites, BYOK obligations, or cross-org governance requirements.
