Flow Framework as the metric system
Flow Time, Flow Efficiency, Flow Velocity, Flow Load, Flow Distribution. Delivery measurement that connects to business outcomes, not team velocity.
Planview • Enterprise software
Planview Viz is the value stream analytics platform that turns fragmented toolchain data into Flow Framework metrics. Merito sells the license and delivers the rollout.
Merito sells Planview Viz (formerly Tasktop Viz) and delivers value stream management rollouts using the Flow Framework. Flow Time, Flow Efficiency, Flow Velocity, Flow Load, and Flow Distribution across Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, GitLab, and the rest of the delivery toolchain.
What it is
Planview Viz is the value stream analytics product, sitting on top of delivery toolchain data to surface flow metrics across Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, GitLab, Tricentis, and other systems. It was originally Tasktop Viz and arrived in the Planview portfolio through the Tasktop acquisition.
The product is built around Dr. Mik Kersten's Flow Framework. Flow Time measures speed from commitment to customer value. Flow Efficiency surfaces wait time ratios and identifies bottlenecks. Flow Velocity tracks throughput trends. Flow Load shows overcommitment at the team or product level. Flow Distribution reveals the balance between features, defects, debt, and risk work. These metrics are value stream analytics, not team velocity reports.
Viz works alongside Planview Hub. Hub is the integration platform that moves data between tools in near real time; Viz is the analytics layer built on top. Customers commonly adopt both together because value stream analytics requires clean cross-tool data, which is exactly what Hub provides.
Merito sells Planview Viz and delivers the rollout: value stream modeling with the Flow Modeler, toolchain integration through Hub, Flow Metric configuration and baseline, Portfolio Insights dashboard design, Planview Anvi AI enablement, and integration with Planview Portfolios for portfolio-level flow visibility.

Core capabilities
The Flow Framework metric system.
Flow Time
Speed of value delivery from commitment to customer delivery.
Flow Efficiency
Ratio of active work to wait time; identifies bottlenecks in the value stream.
Flow Velocity
Throughput measurement over time across work types.
Flow Load
Work-in-progress utilization monitoring at team and product levels.
Flow Distribution
Balance of work profiles: features, defects, debt, and risk work across teams and products.
Visual modeling of end-to-end value streams.
Flow Modeler
Visual end-to-end value stream mapping tied to underlying tool data.
Portfolio Insights
Cross-product performance dashboards aggregating flow metrics.
WIP Insights
Alerts and recommendations for overcommitted teams and products.
AI-assisted flow analysis.
Planview Anvi
Natural-language queries over value stream data, scenario comparisons, and narrative summaries.
Trend and anomaly detection
AI-surfaced trends and anomalies in flow metrics at team, product, and portfolio levels.
Cross-product benchmarking
Compare flow metrics across products, teams, and business units.
Where it fits in the stack
First-party Planview integrations.

Merito sells Planview Viz and runs the Flow Framework rollout. Flow Modeler, Flow Metrics, Portfolio Insights, and the integration work that makes the numbers real.
Merito point of view
Most Viz rollouts that underdeliver stopped at the dashboard. The Flow Modeler got drawn, Flow Metrics got baselined, Portfolio Insights looked great, and nothing changed about how delivery actually worked. Flow Framework earns its seat when it becomes the conversation: when leadership actually uses Flow Efficiency to prioritize bottleneck work, when teams use Flow Distribution to push back on feature-only quarters, when the data survives contact with roadmap negotiations.
Viz without Hub is a disadvantaged product. Hub is the integration platform; Viz is the analytics layer on top of it. Customers who try to feed Viz from manual extracts or partial integrations get flow metrics that are directionally wrong and operationally ignored. Merito's rollouts do Hub first (or concurrently), Viz second.
Team-level velocity is not Flow Velocity. Team-level story-point velocity is an internal planning tool and it is fine for what it is. Flow Velocity measures value stream throughput in units the business cares about. Conflating the two is the second most common Viz adoption mistake.

Consultation request
Share your delivery toolchain (Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, etc.) and whether you already run Planview Hub. A Merito Planview specialist follows up within one business day.
Flow Framework
We roll out Viz when leadership commits to acting on Flow Metrics, not as a decorative dashboard.
Hub plus Viz
Viz needs integrated data. Hub provides it. We run both together for the metrics to be operationally real.
Next step
A Merito Viz engagement starts with whether your leadership will actually use Flow Framework to change prioritization. If yes, we roll it out.
