The unified AI Command now combines action and validation steps for AI Scriptless, Appium, and Selenium tests, while existing tests continue to run unchanged.

AI Scriptless enhancements

Perfecto consolidates AI User Action and AI Validation into AI Command. Teams can use one command interface when building or maintaining AI-driven tests across AI Scriptless, Appium, and Selenium.

Administrators can manage AI command access for each user. Users who do not see AI commands need the AI User role assigned by an administrator.

For AI Scriptless desktop web sessions, users can choose a previously uploaded certificate when opening a device. The certificate is installed before that session begins, without enabling it throughout the cloud.

Android automation and reservation controls

Android Appium sessions can now run Espresso-based tests. Espresso can interact with application views, including Android View Tags that UiAutomator2 cannot access.

In the Assets and setup view, administrators in select enterprise clouds can hide self-service device reservations while retaining reservation API access for automation. Existing reservations remain active, and automated workflows can still create reservations.

Privacy and framework updates

A cookie consent banner appears when Perfecto is opened in a new browser, allowing users to select permitted cookie and tracking categories.

Quantum 3.2.8 corrects JSON-value handling that changed single quotes into Unicode characters. Quantum 3.2.9 supports custom Cucumber JSON reports. Both versions address security vulnerabilities identified in earlier releases.

Appium 3.6.0 is available and is rolling out gradually. It becomes the default on January 3, 2027; tests can select it now with appiumVersion set to 3.6.0. Appium 1 extensions must use a supported Appium version by January 3, 2027.

Android ownership and iOS lifecycle changes

Outside public and trial clouds, Perfecto no longer takes Android device owner privileges by default. Where device-password cleanup requires those privileges, Perfecto Support can enable them.

iOS 16 simulators are no longer supported. Devices limited to iOS 16, including iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPad (5th generation), and first-generation iPad Pro models, are unavailable; simulator workflows require iOS 17 or later.

Real-device support

Real-device testing now covers iOS 27.2 Beta 3, iOS 27.0.1 GA, iOS 27.0 GA, iOS 26.7.1 GA, iOS 26.7 GA, and iOS 18.7.10. With Appium 3, Safari tests can again use driver.get(); the prior driver.executeScript("return window.location.href=\"URL\";"); workaround is no longer needed.

iPhone 18 devices are supported on request through Perfecto Support. Xcode 27 IDS stability is incomplete, so initial connections or reboots can fail or take longer. The keyboard closes after each typetext command, Home does not work before iOS 27, and other untested dependency issues may occur.

Virtual devices, desktop web, and browsers

Virtual devices add iOS 27.0 GA and iOS 27.1 RC. These versions require ARM64 application builds; Intel-only x86_64 builds cannot run. iPhone Duo is supported only on iOS 27.1 RC.

Appium 3.7 is available for virtual devices through the appiumVersion capability. iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are supported as virtual devices running iOS 27.0 GA.

Desktop web testing now supports macOS Golden Gate for private clouds on demand through Perfecto Support. Windows and Mac browser coverage adds Chrome 153 through 155 Stable, Firefox 155 through 157 Stable, and Edge 152 through 155 Stable.
