Semantic search allows users to query the defects grid in natural language and returns defects based on meaning rather than exact terminology. This feature affects teams investigating defects whose descriptions use different or inconsistent vocabulary.
Defect search and filtering
The defects grid now supports semantic search, helping users locate conceptually related defects even when the wording does not match their search terms.
Filtering can now use comment fields. Users can, for example, filter for defects they commented on recently or for items that contain comments.
List-field filters and multi-value list-field editing now include a single action to select every available value, rather than requiring values to be chosen individually.
Dashboard and reporting controls
Dashboard Dynamic Filters now accept date fields. Linked widgets can be filtered by relative periods or explicit date ranges, while retaining a shared data scope across multiple widgets.
Summary and traceability graph widgets now allow third- and fourth-level application modules as either the x-axis or the Group By field. This extends reporting beyond the first two application-module hierarchy levels.
Item phase changes
Users can now reverse one item's phase change without discarding other pending edits. The change applies to phase editing and removes the need to abandon all changes to undo that individual action.
MCP server
The MCP server is now officially released. Preferred AI clients or agents can connect to it to retrieve, edit, and create entities, and to add comments.
For organizations that previously used the MCP server, the space administrator must set OAUTH2_ADMIN_CONSENT_GRANTED to grant consent for OAuth authentication and grant MCP permissions to selected roles.
Harness CI integration
Harness CI integration can now run pipelines with runtime parameters directly from OpenText Core Software Delivery Platform. The capability includes on-demand test runners for JUnit, NUnit, and UFT.
REST API changes
The text_search API parameter now supports similar_to, which identifies items semantically related to a selected backlog item or manual test. The feature can be used to identify overlapping coverage and duplicate work.
A new API exposes user and workspace activity data for analysis of engagement and workspace utilization across the tenant.
The bdd_spec and scenario_test resources are now public without the ALM-OCTANE-TECH-PREVIEW header. Related public fields used in test and run flows include owner, automation_status, description, estimated_duration, bdd_spec, linked_bdd_specs, and owner_bdd_spec.
