OpenText Core Software Delivery Platform is OpenText's cloud-native strategy-to-execution platform, sold under the ValueEdge name until OpenText rebranded it. The product bundles strategic portfolio management, project and portfolio management, value-stream management, test management, automation orchestration, performance result aggregation, application observability, and release dashboards into a single SaaS experience.
Core SDP is the consolidation target for fragmented OpenText footprints and ALM, Quality Center, and ALM Octane on the QA side; on-prem PPM footprints on the portfolio side; standalone value-stream and observability tools on the delivery-governance side. The thesis is that strategy, portfolio, value stream, and execution governance live on one platform instead of three or four.
Consolidating onto Core SDP is not a rip-and-replace. Merito plans the migration in waves, prioritizing the projects whose move produces the most governance savings first, and keeps the legacy tools in place as read-only references until the new structure is proven. The standalone OpenText PPM product remains the right call for customers with deep on-prem IT financial management requirements; Core SDP's portfolio surface is the cloud-native option for programs whose portfolio scope is integrated with the delivery layer.
Ideal use cases
- Strategy-to-execution governance on one SaaS (strategic portfolio, PPM, value stream, delivery)
- Consolidating ALM, Quality Center, and ALM Octane footprints onto one cloud product
- Unifying test management across business units that historically chose different tools
- Centralizing performance results, application observability, and QA evidence in one surface
- Replacing standalone value-stream management and release-dashboard tools with native SDP modules
- Transitioning QA, portfolio, and delivery programs from on-prem to SaaS on a predictable cost model
