This update for SeaLights now shows code-change coverage directly on Azure DevOps User Stories, Features, and Epics, letting teams review modified-code testing status where work is planned and tracked.

Coverage analysis for Azure DevOps

Seeing coverage in ADO has always been a challenge and now Teams can see each work item's percentage of modified methods tested, plus covered and uncovered method counts. Coverage rolls up from child items, so parent Features and Epics display actuals for work beneath them.

Users can set secondary metrics, including Unit Tests and Non-Unit Tests, and display them beside the main result set. Project-specific thresholds mark results with the typical healthy, warning, or critical.

Full Analysis identifies child items lowering coverage, test stages that cover code, and modified methods still uncovered. Select a saved query to review coverage across its work-item hierarchy, including across projects, and add secondary-metric columns.

Download CSV data from Full Analysis or the cross-project view for a point-in-time audit snapshot for external usage. The Azure DevOps extension is shared privately with your Azure DevOps organization. Contact Merito or your SeaLights representative to get access.

What this means for your team

We always try to help our testers be more productive and now QA engineers can identify testing gaps on work items before handoff. Test automation engineers can investigate methods that might not be covered or have less than optimal coverage based on the code change. QA managers can use rolled-up Feature or Epic coverage and project thresholds in release-readiness discussions. Where agents help create or refine tests, these coverage signals can direct review and resources toward changed code without evidence.
